Bald eagle hit by car, saved in Cape Neddick
YORK COUNTY, Maine — The Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick swooped into action after a community member brought in a bald eagle who was struck by a vehicle on the highway. Believed to be five years old, the bird suffered a compound humerus fracture (broken wing), according to a Tuesday social media post by the wildlife center. Staff said the bone had ruptured through the skin, causing bruising and soft tissue damage as well.
