POTTSVILLE, Pa. — A new ordinance passed in Schuylkill County this week has a resident concerned with its target of stray cats and people who interact with them. Patrick Morane, a citizen of Pottsville and a lover of cats, has been providing shelter and food to four stray cats for quite some time. Man, 38, dead after W. Penn Twp. crash
W. PENN TWP., Pa. -- The Carbon County Coroner says a 38-year-old man is dead after a crash in Schuylkill County late Monday night. Alvin Willoughby, 38, of Saint Clair, is dead after the crash at the 800 block of Penn Drive in West Penn Township, according to a news release from the coroner's office. The coroner's office says Willoughby was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Carbon Campus where he was pronounced dead just before 12:40 a.m.
Forfeiture petition seeks $10k seized during traffic stop
WILKES-BARRE — A man from Michigan could lose more than $10,000 seized by the Pennsylvania State Police during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 earlier this year. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office filed a petition in Luzerne County Court seeking forfeiture of the cash found in a duffel bag of a vehicle stopped for speeding and heavy tinted windows on March 8.
