Sonora Woman Arrested For DUI After Crash
Tuolumne County, CA – A Sonora woman was arrested for drunk driving in a crash that injured a toddler. On Monday, April 22, at about 10:20 p.m., 27-year-old Chace Bailey was driving a 2023 Mazda 3 sedan eastbound in the 23200 block of Joaquin Gully Road, east of Cherokee Drive in Twain Harte, at around 55 miles per hour. In the back seat was a 3-year-old passenger. The CHP did not disclose their relationship. Spokesperson Officer Steve Machado relayed, “Bailey lost control of her vehicle, and it traveled off the roadway, smashing into a tree. Bailey was uninjured; however, her passenger was improperly placed in a child restraint seat and sustained minor injuries.”
Sonora Woman Arrested For Stalking
Sonora, CA – A Sonora woman is being held without bail after she allegedly violated a restraining order. A report of a restraining order violation to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office dispatch recently sent deputies to a residence on the 15000 block of Blue Bell Road West, near Mountain Lily Road, east of Wards Ferry Road. The victim called dispatch and advised that 36-year-old Fantasia Baker of Sonora had violated a valid restraining order by showing up at his residence.
Structure Fire In Jamestown Last Night
Jamestown, CA — A structure fire in Jamestown last night destroyed a detached garage. The flames broke out just after 9 p.m. in the garage on the 17800 block of Highway 108 between Harvard Mine Road and Woods Way. CAL Fire reports that when firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were shooting out of the garage, which was 75% engulfed. They added that a nearby structure was also threatened. Crews were able to knock down the blaze in just under 10 minutes. No injuries were reported. The garage was destroyed and what ignited the fire is under investigation.
New Charges For Tuolumne County Inmate Who Shouted Threat At Deputy
Sonora, CA – A Soulsbyville man already in the Tuolumne County Jail faces new charges after making deadly threats. On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, around 12:30 p.m., a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy at the Dambacher Detention Center, off Old Wards Ferry Road in Sonora, was guarding the unit where 42-year-old Daniel Louis Dishman was in a safety cell. It is designed to house inmates who are considered dangerous to other inmates, staff, or suicidal. Sheriff’s officials relayed that Dishman reportedly yelled at the deputy, “I’m going to kill all you cops!”

End of April Parades, Plays and More Mother Lode Events
There is a dog parade, a mutt march and more events happening this weekend. The ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ Parade will take place at 11 am on Saturday in Twain Harte. The family event is open to dogs trained to walk on a leash who are socially friendly. Parade registration begins at 10 am and there will be awards for best dressed dog, best trick performer and more. Proceeds for the event go to help Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) as detailed here.
