One dead after University District shooting near state fairgrounds Saturday night
One person is dead, and another remains in critical condition after a shooting on Saturday night in Columbus' University District near the Ohio State fairgrounds. Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East 13th Avenue shortly before 9 p.m., where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. They then discovered a second gunshot victim on East 14th Avenue.
Columbus man accused of throwing brick through car, striking young girl in the head sentenced
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man who was accused of throwing a brick through a car, striking a young girl in the Hilltop neighborhood last year has been sentenced to prison. Brandon Roberts, 30, was charged with felonious assault and arrested by Columbus Police SWAT following the incident on Oct. 23, 2023. Roberts appeared in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas on April 29 where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced by Judge Andy Miller to four to six years in prison.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Showers and storms moved out of Ohio on Sunday morning, but thanks to a cold front, more of that will return this afternoon, especially for areas along and east of I-71. A Marginal Risk for severe weather persists for East Ohio with gusty winds being the primary threat. The storms will weaken quickly by the evening with dry conditions for tonight.

Columbus police responded to the multi-vehicle crash on I-70 EB near the area of Alum Creek Drive and Livingston Avenue just after 10 a.m. on Saturday and advised that the crash was a hit-skip.
