Desert Storm festivities continued into Friday as Parade of Power participants cruised the Bridgewater Channel. The event drew thousands of spectators to the shoreline and the Island. Onlookers lining the London Bridge and the Channel viewed many power boats in Friday’s procession. A poker run following the parade brought participants to various locations across Lake Havasu. Trial set for Mohave Valley suspect in fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident
KINGMAN — The first criminal trial in 2025 was set Wednesday for a Mohave Valley man charged with fatally injuring a pedestrian with his car in November 2023. Anthony David Duarte, 30, is charged with manslaughter. He is currently out of custody on a bond.

Guest Column: Why I voted against that liquor license
Despite what you heard during an outburst at the last City Council meeting, there are times when the seven council members do not unanimously agree on an issue. That happened at the April 16th meeting when a seemingly simple agenda item was presented authorizing the city to apply for its own liquor license at the refurbished Optimum Community Center. The application was approved on a 6-to-1 vote, and I was the lone dissenting vote.
Accident at Meadows and Highway 95
One person suffered unspecified injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 95 at Meadows Drive on Monday. According to Bullhead City Police Department reports, the driver of a southbound Ford Mustang was stopped at the red light at Meadows when it was struck from behind by a Dodge Durango Citadel. The force of the impact spun the Mustang around into the northbound lanes. The driver of the Mustang was taken by Bullhead City Fire Department ambulance to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Durango was being treated by paramedics at the scene. By Bill McMillen The Daily News.

BULLHEAD CITY — City of Bullhead City staff and contractors will be working on the following projects throughout our city during the week of April 29:. City street maintenance crews will treat Bullhead Parkway with slurry seal applications as a part of the City Street Maintenance Program. This work will involve full-width closures of the parkway beginning each night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
