Newberry students among 4 killed in Waldo crash
The Newberry community is in mourning after two teens died from injuries sustained in a weekend crash in Waldo that had already claimed two other lives. “It is with great sadness that I share the two Newberry High School students who were in the serious car accident this past weekend have now passed away from their injuries,” Newberry High School principal James Sheppard wrote in a Tuesday message to parents. “Thank you for keeping both of these families in your thoughts during this difficult time.”
Residents react to ATV crash killing a 7-year-old boy on a trail in Putnam County
PALATKA, Fla. (WCJB) - Some residents of Putnam County are concerned after another person died in an ATV accident at the Hog Waller Mud Bog campground. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 7-year-old boy was riding with a 32-year-old man. They say the driver quickly turned, which flipped the vehicle over. The ATV fell onto the child before hitting a tree stump.

Action News Jax Investigates pulled public records and found there were 1,162 bites ranging in severity reported to Animal Control so far this year. Animal Control has reported about 830 bite calls in Duval County, about 150 in Clay, about 140 in St. Johns, and 40 bite calls in Putnam.
