Anglers snagging big paddlefish to start season
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Several anglers had already claimed their paddlefish tags as the harvest season began Wednesday morning. Hundreds of people are out at the Yellowstone-Missouri Confluence looking to reel in their annual fish. As of 9 a.m., nearly 20 fish were harvested with the largest so far weighing in at 117 pounds.

St. Joseph's Catholic School in Williston to add 7th grade curriculum next year
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Williston will add a grade of middle school next school year. Principal Narcel Clark and Pastor Paul Eberle announced on Friday the private school will teach seventh grade this fall. She says they have the space and staff to handle the addition because of preschool classes moving to the new Little Joes center.
Williston voters to select replacement for Scott Dyk in legislature
Dyk was elected to the seat in 2022. Under state law, a district committee must meet within three weeks of getting notice of a vacancy to appoint a person to take over, or state leaders may appoint someone to the seat.

A 17-year-old girl ran away from home in Williston recently and the Williston Police Department is asking the public for help finding her. Maya Thompson was last seen on April 23 wearing a lime green long sleeve shirt, black jogging pants, and checkered vans. She is 5"7 and 160 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.
