Newport Offers Wildflower, Bird Hikes
The park naturalist at Newport State Park will lead a Wildflower Folklore Hike 1-2 pm Saturday, May 4, starting from Lot 1. Deb Ford will lead a birding hike to find migratory and local breeding species at the park’s feeding station and the grassland and forest edges along the Monarch Trail at 7 am, Saturday, May 11. The hike will start from the nature center.
Clearing Offers Docent-Led Hikes On Weekends
The Clearing Folk School will offer free guided hikes covering the 88-year history, folklore and landscape of the school and its 128-acre property on weekends starting May 4. The approximate two-hour hikes begin at 1 pm on most Saturdays and Sundays starting Sunday, May 4, and continuing through the end of October.

Road Resurfacing Projects in Liberty Grove, Ephraim
The Door County Highway Department has begun a resurfacing project on Cty ZZ from Meadow Road to Robin Lane in the Town of Liberty Grove. Sawing of asphalt and concrete driveways, removal of material, road pulverization, and grading and compaction is in progress. Placement of two lifts of asphalt, shouldering, and centerline markings will complete the project.
