New ordinance targeting stray cats in Schuylkill County
POTTSVILLE, Pa. — A new ordinance passed in Schuylkill County this week has a resident concerned with its target of stray cats and people who interact with them. Patrick Morane, a citizen of Pottsville and a lover of cats, has been providing shelter and food to four stray cats for quite some time. He said his neighbor passed away and had no other family nearby to care for the cats, so he took them under his wing.

Man, 38, dead after W. Penn Twp. crash
W. PENN TWP., Pa. -- The Carbon County Coroner says a 38-year-old man is dead after a crash in Schuylkill County late Monday night. Alvin Willoughby, 38, of Saint Clair, is dead after the crash at the 800 block of Penn Drive in West Penn Township, according to a news release from the coroner's office. The coroner's office says Willoughby was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Carbon Campus where he was pronounced dead just before 12:40 a.m.
