Man accused of stabbing woman in Hancock County
PENOBSCOT (WGME) -- Deputies arrested a man who they say stabbed a woman in Penobscot before running into the woods. The Hancock County Sheriff's Office says the woman called dispatch and told them a man, later identified as 33-year-old Michael Bakeman, was suffering from a medical event. The call then ended abruptly.

BLUE HILL, Maine (WABI/Gray News) - A Maine couple celebrated their 100th and 97th birthdays, as well as their 78th wedding anniversary, with friends and family. World War II veteran Malcolm “Pete” Carter celebrated his 100th birthday and his wife, Wahneeta Carter, celebrated her 97th birthday Saturday in the company of friends and family at the First Baptist Church of Blue Hill, WABI reports.
Donut Festival returning to Rockport for its second year
ROCKPORT, Maine — The "wildly popular" Rockport Donut Festival is returning to the midcoast this summer for its second year. The Town of Rockport announced Wednesday the sweet event is returning for two days in downtown Rockport and at the Harbor Marine Park on June 7-8.
