Update: High surf advisory affecting Mobile and Baldwin counties until Monday evening
On Saturday at 4:15 a.m. an updated high surf advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 10 a.m. until Monday 7 p.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties. The weather service describes, "Large breaking waves building to 4 to 6 feet. A few large breaking waves up to around 7 feet possible along the western Florida panhandle coast on Sunday."

Kaishan To Expand Loxley Facility
Industrial rotary screw air compressor manufacturer Kaishan Compressor USA of Loxley has announced an $11-million expansion of its facility since its groundbreaking in 2019. Kaishan said the expansion will extend its manufacturing capacity and increase its workforce due to its strong business growth, which includes a workforce increase exceeding 55%, bringing its current employees above 50. The company plans to add 50 additional jobs within the next five years. It is set to augment its research and development center, placing focus on the ongoing development of its oil-free products and staple oil-injected rotary screw compressors. The investment underscores Kaishan’s commitment to its team, with a substantial focus on in-house employee and technical service training. Completion is expected by spring 2025.
Chickasaw Police seek felon suspected of domestic violence
CHICKASAW, Ala. (WPMI) — Chickasaw Police responded to a domestic violence call in the 500 block 4th Avenue on Tuesday, April 15, 2024 at approximately 8:35 pm. Upon officers arrival, Robert Pettaway, 43, was arguing with the victim. Officers separated Mr. Pettaway and the victim in an attempt to speak with both parties. As Mr. Pettaway was walking with the officers, Pettaway dropped a handgun and took off on foot running from officers.
