Air is very humid this week
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - This week will feel like we are in the middle of summer because the air will be very humid. Rip current risks will also be increasing this week as our South winds significantly ramp up. We could have wind gusts in the 20-30 mph range each day. We’ve seen hit and miss showers the last few days and those look to continue. The coverage will remain in the 20-30% range, so not everyone will see these and if you don’t receive any rain you’ll have to do some lawn watering.
Stretch of a downtown Mobile street set to close Monday
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - If you drive in downtown Mobile to get to work Monday morning, May 6th, you may want to take note of a planned street closing. The Downtown Mobile Alliance says weather permitting, the City of Mobile will be closing Dauphin Street between Joachim and Conception streets Monday, May 6 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

(WPMI) — The city of Mobile is gearing up for an electrifying celebration of culture, community, and competition as the 2024 Gulf Coast Challenge Powered by the Mobile Sports Authority kicks off on Wednesday, October 2nd and runs through Saturday, October 5th. This highly anticipated event promises to be the ultimate HBCU experience, showcasing the best of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and featuring an exciting football showdown between Alabama A&M University Bulldogs and Jackson State University Tigers.
Impact 100 Baldwin County to award $515,000 in grants to local nonprofits
A Baldwin County women’s organization announced last week that it had raised $515,000 to dole out to five nonprofits serving the area. The Baldwin chapter of Impact 100, an international nonprofit philanthropic organization, held its annual “big reveal” event at Oak Hollow Farm on April 23. This will be its 17th year of awarding grants, according to a release from the organization.
