Feeding America food distribution scheduled for Luce County Thursday afternoon
NEWBERRY, Mich. (WLUC) - Feeding America West Michigan is scheduled to distribute food to residents in need of assistance in Luce County on Thursday afternoon. The pantry is located at the GCCP Dunlap Center, at 6545 Hwy. M-123 in Newberry. Distribution is slated to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern time. Anyone unable to physically attend can have a proxy or stand in pick up food for them. That person will need to be ready to give the name, address, and household size of any other family they are picking up for.
Pickford earns a pair of shutout wins over Newberry
NEWBERRY - The Pickford Panthers scored a pair of convincing wins on the diamond on Thursday afternoon, shutting out Newberry 21-0 and 10-0 in a non-conference doubleheader. Pickford (6-4) travels to Rudyard on Monday, April 29. Newberry is also on the road on Monday, paying a visit to Sault Ste. Marie.
Engadine Consolidated Schools honors late Ross Freeman with science, technology wing
ENGADINE, Mich. (WLUC)—A late Engadine graduate was honored by his high school, which has named its science and technology wing in his honor. Friends and family of Ross Freeman gathered Monday night to honor his memory at Engadine Consolidated Schools. Freeman’s sister Janet Freeman said the school chose to name the science and technology wing after him because that was his forte.
