Colfax man accused of stalking sentenced to six months jail
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Colfax man accused of placing a GPS tracker on his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle in February 2023 has been sentenced to serve six months in jail. Abraham J. Hendricks, 41, 1000 University Ave., pleaded guilty in Chippewa County Court to two counts of misuse of a GPS device and no contest to one count of bail jumping. A more serious charge of felony-level stalking by use of a dangerous weapon — domestic abuse was read-in and dismissed.
Truck carrying cooking oil crashes, results in spill
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a truck crashed, resulting in a spill. According to a press release from Eau Claire Fire & Rescue, on May 24, 2024, around midnight, Eau Claire Fire & Rescue responded to a traffic incident at the intersection of State Street and Washington Street.

The Division 4 Sectional 1B No. 2 seed McDonell Macks hosted the hot-hitting third-seeded Colfax Vikings while Division 1 Sectional 1 No. 4 seed Chippewa Falls simultaneously took on No. 5 Wisconsin Rapids. EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (CITY OF EAU CLAIRE PRESS RELEASE) - Heavy rain in the upper Chippewa River watershed is resulting in rising levels on the Chippewa River in Eau Claire. At 10 a.m., the Chippewa River gauge at Grand Avenue read approximately 767 feet; at its current level, the river has entered the Action stage. The downtown flood stage is 773 feet.
