91-year-old has been working at McDonald's for 19 years

EAU CLAIRE (WKBT) -- When you typically think of a McDonald's employee, you usually think of a teenager or even a young adult.

But that isn't the case at one McDonald's in Eau Claire.

"Everybody knows Grandma June, and it was just a great feeling to be able to know that I had somebody like that on my team," said Janessa Comstock, General Manager.

For many, June Zilmer has become somewhat of a local celebrity.

"There's people that come in and they say, 'I haven't been here in 10 years but they're looking for June," said Comstock.

Her official role at McDonald's is hostess, greeting everyone that comes in,  sweeping the floors, and even refiling customer drinks.

But for June, it all comes down to the people.

"I have never found a bad one in the crowd," said Zilmer.

Emphasizing that it goes beyond just people stopping in for a bite to eat.

"The people that came in they became my friends," said Zilmer.

With no plans of stopping anytime soon.

"I'm here, and I'll stay here till the good lord says no," said Zilmer.
