Buchanan County Sheriff investigating after man injured in shooting
BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office is working with Iowa DCI to investigate after a man was injured in a shooting this morning. Buchanan County Health Center Emergency Room staff reported they had an adult male in their ER with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 9am, and contacted officials. Buchanan County Health Center went into a precautionary lockdown because not all parties involved were accounted for at the time. The victim was later taken to UIHC, and his exact condition is unknown.
Manchester man killed when UTV collides with pickup near Ryan
RYAN, Iowa — Authorities say a Manchester man died after pulling out in front of a pickup in Delaware County. The Iowa State Patrol says it happened around 1:20pm Friday at the Intersection of County Highway D47 and 190th Avenue. Authorities say 39-year-old Kyle Kelchen of Manchester was driving a Polaris Ranger UTV when he pulled out in front of a pickup traveling on D47.

Trial set for two of three men charged with kidnapping, killing Marion woman
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Trials for two of the three men accused of killing a Marion woman and dumping her body in the Amanas have now been delayed. Dakota Van Patten, 18, and McKinley Louisma, 23, are charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony. Prosecutors say the two kidnapped and killed Melody Hoffman in February before dumping her body at Lily Pond in the Amanas. Prosecutors say Louisma had a previous relationship with Hoffman.
