Newburgh fire leaves more than a dozen homeless
NEWBURGH- A Saturday fire at 89 Overlook Place in the City of Newburgh advanced to multiple alarms and destroyed a building leaving more than a dozen people homeless. The Red Cross was called to provide support to the families that were displaced. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Chief leaves police department to oversee school safety
NEWBURGH – Newburgh City Police Chief Anthony Geraci has resigned from the city police department to take a position in the Newburgh school district. Geraci was named the director of safety and security for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District at a special meeting of the board of education on Friday.
Chester honors Jack Deshler with tree planting at Carpenter Field
CHESTER – Visitors waited more than an hour in the rain to pay their respects to Jack Deshler at his wake last September. It was a tribute to a hard-working and kind-hearted man beloved by Chester residents and Deshler was honored again this week. The Town of Chester planted a tree in Deshler’s memory for Arbor Day on Thursday.
