An early morning accident on Highway 36 near Marceline, Missouri, resulted in moderate injuries for two women when their car crashed and struck a tree on April 27. At approximately 4:02 a.m., a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Amnah E. Thabet, 20, of Lenexa, Kansas, was traveling westbound when it failed to navigate a curve. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the car then veered off the left side of the road, collided with a road sign, crossed back over to the right side, and subsequently became airborne. After a second airborne incident, the vehicle slid down an embankment and crashed into a tree.
