STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State broke from a 3-3 sixth-inning deadlock with a single run in the bottom of the sixth and held on for a 4-3 win over Missouri Thursday night at Dudy Noble Field. With the win, MSU improved to 35-18 overall, 16-12 in the Southeastern Conference. Missouri dropped to 22-31, 8-20. Mississippi State right hander took his customary poll position to open the series against Missouri. After Stephen fanned the Tiger leadoff hitter, a walk put the first Missouri runner on. With two down, Danny Corona lofted a single to center to put runners at the corners. A pop out to shortstop averted any trouble. In the bottom of the first, Missouri right hander Kaden Jacobi took the hill. Bryce Chance grounded to third, David Mershon to first, and Dakota Jordan flew out to right.
