North Sky Trail in Boulder nearing completion
The new North Sky Trail west of US Highway 36 in Boulder County is one step closer to being open, with anticipated completion in mid-July. The City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department plans to close the Foothills North Trailhead and the northern section of Foothills North Trail, starting as early as Wednesday, to install a bridge for the new North Sky Trail.

Spring storm brings another 25 inches of snow to Colorado
Another spring snowstorm has brought up to 25 more inches of snow to some areas in Colorado. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the north-central mountains got the most snow. Some peaks near Boulder saw as much as 25 inches within the past 72 hours. Mount Audubon got 25.3 inches of snow and Longs Peak got up to 24.2 inches. Other areas along the Front Range received between 8-18 inches. The weekend storm also brought 2-3 inches to metro Denver. According to the NWS Boulder, unsettled weather will continue Sunday, with some afternoon snow showers in the mountains and a chance of rain and thunderstorms over the plains. Gas line struck during construction
Gas lines in the area of Ninth Avenue and Pace Street have been shut down. The line was accidentally struck by a construction crew in the area around 1 p.m. According to the city of Longmont, it is unclear how long repairs will take, however, the city expects it to be more than two hours. The leak is currently being addressed by Xcel Energy.

Lafayette police seek public help in identifying found dog
Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a dog found Monday in Lafayette. According to a Lafayette police post on X, the smooth haired, Dachshund-type dog was found at South Boulder Road and Public Road Monday morning. Neither an owner nor address for the dog was found.
