Fort Meade lifts boil water notice after receiving test results
Fort Meade has rescinded a boil water notice issued on Saturday. Laboratory tests on water samples confirmed that the water system could resume normal operations, spokesperson Greg King said Tuesday afternoon. An electrical fault occurred Saturday, causing a drop in water pressure throughout the city, according to a news release. City staff soon restored consistent pressure at the water plant but said it would take some time for water pressure to stabilize throughout the city. Tommy King, Fort Meade’s water resources director, had advised residents to avoid drinking city-supplied water.
