The Buildings and Grounds Committee met Friday to approve the 2024 Major Capital Plan and set an estimated budget for new projects for the 2024-25 academic year. The updated plan adds eight new projects, including an expansion of the U.Va. Copeley Childcare Center and a renovation of the Darden Faculty Office Building. The Board of Visitors Committee on the University of Virginia’s College at Wise approved a new Master of Technology Management & Data Analytics program and heard updates on Wise’s fall enrollment statistics and retention rates at its meeting Friday. 18-year-old who drowned in Lake Monticello remembered as ‘kind, gentle soul’
JENKINSVILLE, S.C. (WIS) - An 18-year-old who drowned in Lake Monticello in Fairfield County is being remembered by his high school. The Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill said Joel Joseph Martin, from Blair, was swimming in the lake when he went underwater and did not resurface. He was found after emergency crews and dive teams searched the area.

At Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College, we had the boys and girls Class 1 soccer finals. The Galax Maroon Tide yielded goals from Alberto Vera and Eddie Erazo on their way to a 2-1 championship win over West Point.
