An Endangered Person Advisory out of Advance for an 11-month-old baby boy has been canceled. Authorities are reporting Jackson Cole Morgan of Advance, has been located safe with his mother, Gretchen Mollie Boston. Police said the boy’s caregiver left for a short period of time to retrieve an item, leaving Morgan in the care of Boston. Upon the current guardian’s return, both Boston and Morgan were gone. Authorities said the mother is the legal guardian of the child.

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Three people were injured in a crash at intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 114 Tuesday morning, June 6. According to the traffic report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2017 Jeep Liberty was going northbound on Highway 25 at Highway 114 around 11:35 a.m. when it failed to yield to a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe going southbound and entered the intersection.
Woman arrested on assault, gun charges
STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A Dexter woman is facing assault and gun charges. According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 27-year-old Bianca Moe Shon Drummond was arrested on Monday, June 5 on three counts of second degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of shooting a firearm from a vehicle/shooting at a person, another vehicle or building-persistent offender charges.

Dexter Community Schools Hires Grace Wolfe as Band Director
June 8, 2023 – Dexter Community Schools is pleased to announce the selection of Grace Wolfe to lead the DHS Band Program. Ms. Wolfe earned a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from Northwestern University and bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Trombone Performance from the University of Michigan. She also has extensive experience working with marching bands. In addition to several other civic music groups, she performed with the Dexter Community Orchestra for three years.
MDC: Don’t believe hoax letters claiming 550 buffaloes are being sent to your property
MISSOURI, USA — The Missouri Department of Conservation is letting residents know they are not sending buffaloes to their property, despite what a hoax letter claims. A letter purporting to be from MDC was recently sent to some residents in Franklin and Wayne counties claiming the department was sending "550 buffaloes" to the homeowner's property, according to the department's Facebook post.
Two Southeast Missouri teachers receive grants from WGU
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Two teachers from Southeast Missouri were recently awarded grants through WGU Missouri’s “Fund My Classroom” initiative. Kimber Parks, a third-grade teacher from Orchard Drive Elementary in Jackson, and Michaella Gantz, a fourth-grade teacher at Kelso C-7 Elementary in Benton, both received grants that will go to their classrooms. Parks received a $2,360 grant to create a classroom news channel, while Gantz received a $300 grant to obtain new sets of guided reading chapter books for her classroom.

Crash report for SE Missouri
One man has been sent to the hospital for serious injuries following a crash that occurred in Stoddard County yesterday afternoon. Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E responded to a crash on County Road 442, one mile north of Dexter. The crash occurred as the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Focus, ran off the right side of the road and overturned. The driver of the vehicle was 52-year-old Joseph Gilmore from Mississippi. Gilmore was heading eastbound when the overturn happened. Gilmore was taken by ambulance to Southeast Health in Dexter for serious injuries, and his vehicle is probably totaled.

DEXTER, Mo. (KFVS) - One man has been sent to the hospital for serious injuries following a crash that occurred in Stoddard County, Mo. On June 4, around 12:24 p.m., Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E responded to a crash on County Road 442, one mile north of Dexter. Construction begins in Chaffee schools
Construction has begun on buildings in the Chaffee School District, with work expected to be completed before classes start in the fall. Superintendent Shawn Nix said the elementary and high school are undergoing renovations to become more secure. The funding is from the K.I.D.S. bond issue that passed in 2022. With this bond, both buildings will be getting updated offices and entry protocols. The office in the elementary school will be moved to the front of the building and the high school will be adding a recipients office. With these updates, the staffs will be able to control the traffic in the buildings.
