YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – One of the best ways to start improving your health is simply putting one foot in front of the other and walking.

A free walking class in downtown Youngstown left the Mocha House at noon on Wednesday. The Walk Wednesdays walking group goes to Wean Park and enjoys the weather and time together. The program started in 2019.

The idea is to promote local parks, connect and make new friends while improving health.

“Heart, lungs, mental. It’s really really good for us in order to get those things into our body and help relieve stress. It’s excellent,” said Doris Bullock.

The Walk Wednesdays will continue until the weather gets too cold.

The YO! App gives promo codes to walkers that can be redeemed at 20 city businesses.
