Ceremony celebrates open of new Youngstown food spot

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Heck Ya Chili Dogs is now open in Youngstown.

On the side of US-422, the new shop is housed in a bright yellow and red checkered shipping container.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday to celebrate.

It is drive-thru only with lanes on both sides, serving up hot dogs and fries with Bill West’s mom’s secret recipe.

West is originally from Campbell and says he’s proud to open a business in the area.

“I know a lot of companies would have refused to come here, and to me, that just says that they don’t see value here, but I see value here,” West said. “I wanted to serve the sort of the neighborhoods here.”

West is looking forward to opening more Heck Ya locations, telling First News he’d be happy to have 100.

Heck Ya Chili Dogs is open Tuesday through Sunday.
