Garrison School recognized as Green Ribbon School
GARRISON – Putnam County’s smallest school district—the Garrison School—is a giant when it comes to educational proficiency. On Friday during the school’s 3rd Annual Youth Climate Summit, Regent Frances Wills, former Superintendent of Schools in Putnam Valley, praised the students for their exemplary work and presentations on solving real-world environmental problems. She also congratulated Principal Allison Emig, Interim Superintendent Carl Albano and Environmental Science Teacher and Youth Climate Summit Organizer, Rachel Arbor for their achievement in being named a Green Ribbon School.
Clarkstown Councilman Mark Woods, retired NYPD and combat veteran, has died at 54
Mark Woods, a member of the Clarkstown Town Board and director of peer veteran services at the nonprofit BRIDGES, died Friday, May 17, at age 54. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann announced Woods' death, from an apparent heart attack. Hoehmann saluted Woods' service to community, including his long and distinguished record in law enforcement and in the military. Woods continued to support fellow veterans through his work with the nonprofit BRIDGES.

Yorktown PD, State Police Search for Missing Lakeland Teens
YORKTOWN, N.Y.— Police are hunting for two teenage girls from Yorktown who have been missing since May 12. Police seeking information on Peekskill attempted murder
A man was arrested and charged Tuesday with assaulting a 56-year-old woman in Peekskill. Peekskill police Lt. Adam Renwick said officers responded to the scene of a reported assault at an apartment on 900 South Street around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday. Renwick said a 56-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.
