A private beach or wine cellars? What up to $5M will buy you in York, Lancaster homes

Want a private beach on the lake, your own pool, a wine cellar that goes on for days or a home movie theater? York and Lancaster county homes for sale have them, for a price.

Canopy Realtor Association covers the Charlotte metro area and much of North Carolina. As of May 1, it lists 1,113 homes priced at $1 million or more. York and Lancaster counties combine for 65 of them. The most million-dollar listings in this area are in Fort Mill (24), Lake Wylie (16) and Rock Hill (eight).

There are five each in Indian Land and Lancaster, plus three in Tega Cay and two each in York and Clover. Many of the Lake Wylie listings have Clover or York addresses.

Scaling even higher on the housing ladder, the Rock Hill region has a dozen homes listed at $2 million or more. Four of them have an asking price well higher than any home sale last year ($3.7 million) in the region. Here’s a look at those dozen listings, with information from the Canopy listings , and what makes them unique:

Windjammer Drive

Price: $4.5 million

Address: 29022 Windjammer Dr., Tega Cay

Features: A saltwater pool and hot tub overlooking the shores of Lake Wylie, where there’s a sandy beach and dock. The listing shows eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms in the 8,890-square-foot home. There’s a gym, multiple office spaces and a bar for entertaining.

Marthas Vineyard Road

Price: $4.2 million

Address: 1812 Marthas Vineyard Road, York

Features: The Lake Wylie home with a York address but a Clover schools assignment has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It was built two years ago with a saltwater pool, spa, private beach and dock on the lake. It’s 5,575 square feet of custom construction with a modern, open floor plan.

New Gray Rock Road

Price: $3.8 million

Address: 2270 New Gray Rock Road, Fort Mill

Features: High-end additions include a 200-year-old French bakers table island, floor-to-ceiling Tennessee stone fireplace in the great room, sports court and a pool pavilion with an outdoor kitchen near the pool and spa. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom home is 5,710 square feet.

Wisteria Vines Trail

Price: $3.8 million

Address: 645 Wisteria Vines Trail, Fort Mill

Features: The three-level home has elevator access. Basement options include a full kitchen or fitness studio. There’s a pool and a chef’s kitchen. More than an acre of property includes wooded areas in addition to the 9,000-square-foot home with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

JW Wilson Road

Price: $3.6 million

Address: 961 JW Wilson Road, Fort Mill

Features: The Wilson Farm property is part of a new luxury farm estate community. It’s on 2 acres, at 5,463 square feet. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home has a pool and outdoor living space backed by large trees, not far off Fort Mill Parkway.

River Ridge Place

Price: $3.5 million

Address: 2700 River Ridge Place, Fort Mill

Features: The almost 3-acre property has panoramic views of Lake Wylie, two kitchens, a walkout basement and a massive, temperature-controlled wine cellar for up to 8,000 bottles. There’s a four-bay storage area for cars or RVs. The more than 10,000-square-foot home has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Seminole Drive

Price: $3 million

Address: 1118 Seminole Dr., Fort Mill

Blue Bird Lane

Price: $2.2 million
