With division titles determined in most of the spring team sports, it's time to move to the rest of the YAIAA postseason.
Singles and doubles champions have already been crowned in boys' tennis, and track and field athletes will hold their league meet on Wednesday.
Lacrosse kicks off a big tournament week with semifinals on Thursday, May 9 and the championship next week. Boys' volleyball follows with their semifinals and finals next week.
Unfortunately, league officials were forced to cancel the baseball and softball tournaments.
"The YAIAA regrets to announce that because of the rainy spring, with more forecasted bad weather, we are canceling the 2024 YAIAA baseball tournament," the league said in a statement on Wednesday. "This will allow our teams to get their league make-up games in and better prepare for the PIAA District 3 tournament."
Two days later the league called off the softball tournament.
"The YAIAA regrets to announce that because of the rainy spring, continued bad weather today, and the forecast, the 2024 YAIAA softball tournament is canceled," the league said in a statement on Friday. "This will allow our teams to get their league makeup games in and better prepare for the PIAA District 3 tournament."
The District 3 baseball tournament starts on Friday, May 17 and the softball tournament starts on Monday, May 20.
Here is a breakdown of the pairings, sites, times and dates for each sport. This post will be updated with results and finals pairings after the games are played.
