    The League of Women Voters (LWV) of the Rivertowns to convene a discussion on affordable housing in Westchester County . Scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Grinton I. Will Library Auditorium in Yonkers, the event aims to shed light on the scarcity of affordable housing options and its ramifications on various demographics, including seniors, young professionals, and local workers. The League of Women Voters, known for its dedication to civic engagement and social justice, underscores the importance of this symposium in fostering informed discourse and driving tangible change.

    About the event

    This symposium features a distinguished panel of experts poised to explore the multifaceted challenges of the region's housing landscape. Leading the discussion will be Tiffany Zezula, Esq., Deputy Director for the Land Use Law Center at Pace University School of Law. She brings a wealth of experience in housing advocacy and community development. Joining Zezula are other esteemed panelists including:

    • Susan Darling, Chief Planner at the Westchester County Department of Planning
    • Tim Foley, CEO and Executive Vice President of The Building and Realty Institute
    • Rose Noonan, Executive Director of the Housing Action Council

    Together, they will dissect the complexities of the housing crisis. Moreover, the panel plans to propose actionable solutions to address the shortage of affordable housing units.
