The Cardinal Hayes Cardinals — which played all its games on the road this season because the city refused to repair its home field at a public park in the shadow of Yankee Stadium — crushed Buffalo’s St. Francis Red Raiders 40-22 Saturday in New York’s Catholic league title game. First Pelham Half Marathon and 10K in four years is success for participants and Pelham Civics
With music blaring and spirits high, the Pelham Half Marathon and 10K kicked off to a roaring start. Runners gathered at the Daronco Town House early. Saturday morning, coats zipped and hats on, preparing to run their races. As the time neared 7:30 a.m., participants hugged their family members and friends for support and headed to the starting line. Before the start, the national anthem was sung by Grace Kiamie, a junior at Pelham Memorial High School. The runners took off with the signal from the announcer, pulses racing.

Indian Harbor Winter Sailing Association – Day 1 of Fall Series. Indian Harbor Yacht Club Winter Sailing / Frostbiting Association was back on the water on Sunday, November 12 for the first race day of the ‘Fall Series’. The Fall Series consists of 10 race days. The conditions were once again ideal with ample sunshine, seasonal temps in the high 40s and a gentle 6-8 knot breeze out of the north. 17 sailors competed in 5 races. The Race Committee set a course consisting of 3 legs with a finish at the starting line which averaged 20 minutes to complete.
Boys Varsity Hockey Pitchforked by the Devils
Rye Boys Varsity Hockey was pitchforked by the upstate D1 power Clarence Red Devils during their season opener on Saturday. The Devils scorched the Garnets 6 – 4. “We got into penalty trouble early and had to dig ourselves out of a hole,” said Rye Boys Varsity Hockey Coach Peter Thomas. “We showed a lot of heart battling back in this game and it could have gone either way.”
