Yakima Police Department announce new Crime Victim Advocate
YAKIMA- The Yakima Police Department has announced the appointment of a Crime Victim Advocate, who joined the team just before last week's National Crime Victim's Rights Week. Anna Olson describes herself as a mom, a wife, an advocate and a fifteen year survivor of domestic violence, who grew up on the Bloodhead Reservation and spent time in Montana before moving to the lower valley in 2021, spending ten years in the Tri-Cities. In a video statement released by the YPD, Ms. Olson described her background and experience she brings to the role, saying: ''My background and passion have always lied in victim advocacy, especially focusing on human trafficking and the missing and murdered indigenous women epidemic"
