A Wyomissing-based nonprofit that supports the disability community has promoted its chief operating officer to CEO

The IM ABLE Foundation has announced that Alex Pilkington has taken over the role as CEO.

Pilkington joined the IM ABLE Foundation in July 2021, taking charge of all business operations and assisting in the transition of CEO responsibilities from founder Chris Kaag.

Kaag has since transitioned into the role of chief motivational officer at IM ABLE and will leverage his expertise to further the foundation's mission while also guiding its strategic vision to become a leading force in the disabled fitness community.

“We are very excited to have Pilkington join our team as CEO," said Kaag. “Alex has been with us for over two and half years preparing for this moment and will assume the role of CEO to steer the organization forward. Our committed board of directors are in full support of this transition and will continue to advise and oversee what comes next.”

Pilkington is a US Army veteran. Prior to joining IM ABLE, Pilkington held numerous executive and operational leadership roles, most recently as a chief strategy officer for a start-up where he led operations, strategy, and growth.

He earned his master's degree in Management, Strategy & Leadership from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business.
