Minnesota- Bike to School Day is on Wednesday, May 8. Every year, MnDOT and Minnesota Safe Routes to School sponsor Bike to School Day to promote safe biking and walking activities. Students can bike or walk to school the whole way or try commuting a few blocks with friends. Several schools in our area are participating.
Wisconsin Gov. Evers Stops in Superior for “Pothole Patrol” Tour
SUPERIOR, Wis. — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers made a stop in Superior Wednesday as part of his annual statewide “Pothole Patrol” tour. The initiative is to help fix Wisconsin roads and discuss the investments to improve the local streets and highways around the state. Evers signed a budget including $550 million for transportation projects underway and $100 million for local roads across the state. The general transportation fund has also increased by 2%. Over last 5 years they have improved close to 7,500 miles of road and over 1,500 bridges.

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Nurses within Essentia Health have announced they are planning to start a union. According to the Minnesota Nurses Association, registered nurses at Essentia Miller Hill Surgery Center along with nurses and other healthcare workers at Essentia Solvay Hospice House announced they have filed for an election with the National Labor Relations Board to form a union represented by the Minnesota Nurses Association.
