The WCHS Summer Community Band, sponsored by an anonymous donor for the Wayne County Historical Society, is looking forward to another summer of concerts.

The Wooster Board of Trade Band, with its concerts in the old bandstand in front of the now E & H Hardware, is an example of the type of band the WCHS group is.

The band will perform under the baton of Randy Claes of Wooster. The concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, in downtown Wooster. Spectators should take chairs. Arrangements will be made in case of inclement weather.

The band also will perform a concert at Historic Sonnenberg Village near Kidron on Monday, July 15.

Rehearsals will begin in the College of Wooster Scheide Music Center Recital Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 and continue on Wednesdays through July 10.

Anybody who plays a band instrument (including percussion) is welcome to join; age and experiences doesn't matter. The members range in age from 13-94. The band will play fun songs, marches, show tunes, patriotic songs, etc.

For more information, contact Claes at randyclaes@gmail.com or Jerry Payn, band co-manager, at gmpayn@gmail.com .
