Sinton athletes sign college letters of intent
Over the last several days, Sinton High School celebrated six of their athletes who will be continuing their athletic and academic careers at the college level next fall. On May 14, the Pirates saw boys' powerlifter Landen Longoria sign his letter of intent to lift collegiately at Midland University in Nebraska. Longoria made it to the state powerlifting meet this past season.

Taft High School celebrated four of its student athletes signing their letters of intent to play at the collegiate level on May 13. The gym filled up to watch and celebrate four athletes – three powerlifters and a track and field star – pledge to continue their athletic and academic journeys at the next level.

A former local high school standout is making his name known in the junior college baseball landscape. On May 15, former Sinton High School standout and current Northwest Florida College first baseman Jaquae Stewart was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Player of the week following his exploits during FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII Tournament.
