Weldon Heritage Speaker Series highlights slave autobiographies and Halifax County's Underground Railroad connection
WELDON, N.C.—Last month, residents of Granville, Halifax, Northampton, Orange, Vance and Wake counties gathered to hear a leading expert on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century North American slave autobiographies. The free public event was the fourth in the Weldon Heritage Speaker Series sponsored by the town revitalization non-profit Weldon In Action. It was hosted by Weldon In Action's regular host venue, Halifax Community College.
