His career began in the township fire department and he was a volunteer at New Sharon Fire Company. Reed was a career firefighter for five years beginning in October 2000.

Deptford library announces lineup of summer events
With summer nearly here, the Deptford library has planned a plethora of events for the rest of June and the months of July and August. Kids will be able to take advantage of summer reading programs, as well as story time classes planned for preschool, grades k-2, third and fifth grades and sixth through eighth grades. Kids will read a story and then do an activity such as a craft with their story’s theme.
