Local high school baseball teams are coming to the last lines of their baseball schedules this week. But a healthy handful have winning records as the regular season comes to an end and will take the leap into the playoffs next.

Following are capsules from Tuesday’s night’s heavy slate of action:

    South Central 8, D.H. Conley 6

South Central avenged an earlier 1-0 loss to D.H. Conley on Tuesday night in a shootout 8-6 victory in Winterville.

Carter Hale had a two-run double to pace South Central. No other stats were reported from the game.

The Falcons (17-4, 8-3 Big Carolina 3A/4A Conference) will now ride a six-game winning streak into Thursday night’s regular season finale at home against Northside Jacksonville.

D.H. Conley (19-3, 10-2) saw its 10-game winning streak halted and closed out its regular season in the process.

    J.H. Rose 13, Havelock 1 (5 inn.)

Rose won its 20th game of the season and 10th in the Big Carolina Conference on Tuesday night after stifling the Rams to one hit.

Andrew Wallen threw four frames, striking out six, walking two and allowing the lone hit and run. He also doubled and drove in a run.

Justin Grimes was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and Caleb Overby and Wyatt Fagundas drove in two runs apiece.

Rose (20-2, 10-1) hosts Jacksonville on Thursday.

    Ayden-Grifton 2, Washington 0

Senior Josh Tripp threw 6.1 shutout innings on Tuesday night and the Chargers scored single runs in the second and third innings for an Eastern Plains Conference win.

Tripp struck out nine Pam Pack batters and allowed six hits before exiting the game in the seventh. Connor Loftin hit a solo home run, Ashton Watkins drove in the other run and Camden Wilson and Jack Ewett each had two of Ayden-Griffon’s five hits.

The Chargers (14-9, 5-6) close out the regular season at Washington on Thursday.

Farmville Central 16, North Pitt 0 (5 inn.)

The Jags snapped a three-game slide in a big way Tuesday night after no-hitting the Panthers in five innings.

Farmville rapped nine hits, while North Pitt committed four errors.

The Jaguars (12-7, 8-3) and Panthers (3-16, 0-11) finish out the regular season in Bethel on Thursday night.

John Paul 9, Parrott Academy 3

The Saints rode freshman Joyner Haddock to victory on Tuesday in their final regular season game against the rival Patriots.

Haddock doubled and drove in three runs out of the leadoff spot, while also starting the game on the mound and striking out six, walking two and allowing two runs on three hits. Ray Shaw was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Noah Sugg drove in a run For the Saints (14-9, 6-3).
