WINTERVILLE — In honor of Earth Day, UScellular associates helped lead a campus beautification project at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain’s Jack Minges Club. This is one of many activities that UScellular associates around the country will be participating in to celebrate National Volunteer Month.

“At UScellular, we embrace the idea of giving back to our communities,” said Wayne Suggs, store manager. “Through our associates’ collective efforts in eastern North Carolina, we’re excited to create meaningful connections with each other and with the Greenville community while taking part in positive experiences such as our Earth Day project here today.”

UScellular associates worked with members of the Jack Minges Club in an Earth Day activity where they planted flowers as part of a campus beautification project as well as planting vegetables in the club’s garden area. The flowers and vegetables will be enjoyed throughout the spring and summer seasons by club members, staff and their families.

"We are so thankful for the UScellular team's dedication to engaging with our youth and are excited for this year's Earth Day project," said Cerissa Williams, unit director for Jack Minges Club. "Planting flowers and vegetables together not only beautifies our club spaces, but also sows seeds of responsibility and teamwork among our members.

"We look forward to continuing this fruitful relationship and are grateful for the many years of support from UScellular,"Williams said.

Since 2009, UScellular has invested more than $47 million in monetary donations, technology resources and experiences to nonprofit organizations across the country. For more information about UScellular’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, go to newsroom.uscellular.com/community.
