    Woman dies after being shot at Winston-Salem tavern, police say

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman has died after a shooting at a Winston-Salem tavern.

    At around 2:07 a.m. on Sunday , officers came to CB’s Tavern at 3870 Bethania Station Road about a shooting.

    The victim, Julia Ann Shields, 37, of Winston-Salem, had already been taken to the hospital before the police arrived.

    Police said that Shields died Monday.

    The WSPD’s Criminal Investigations Division has assumed investigative responsibility for the shooting. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

    There is no further information available at this time.
