New dessert shop opens at the Mall of Abilene
Another vacant suite in the Mall of Abilene has been filled. The Sweet Spot , a new drink and dessert cafe, celebrated its grand opening at its new mall storefront on Sunday. The Sweet Spot was founded by Christy Aguilar, who moved to Abilene last year from McAllen. "I bake at home, and my kids and my husband are like 'You should just open a business,' But I didn't open it right away," said Aguilar. "So what I did is I went to the Market at Buffalo Gap, and that's where I started" Aguilar has grown her business from just operating on Facebook and at local markets to opening her own storefront in the mall, and she plans to run it with the help of her two kids. "I'm looking forward to meeting new people and serving people different kinds of desserts throughout the week," said Aguilar. New plant shop takes root in downtown Abilene
Nestled into the concrete jungle of downtown Abilene lies a hidden gem, a green oasis, blushing with life and blooming with opportunity. Lilly Lane Plant Co., Abilene's first and only plant boutique, opened this past year. And while experiencing a bit of a rocky start, the plant store has taken root in the community and quickly become a staple among locals. "We started getting our first shipments in January, right when we got that heavy snowstorm, and it was really, really cold," said Kristen Nohl, the owner of Lilly Lane Plant Co. "It was nerve-wracking, and because of that storm, we ended up having to delay our opening, and we were so worried about the power going out and killing all of our plants." Thankfully, the power stayed on, and the shop's grand opening was moved to Feb. 7, said Nohl. "It turned out to be a good thing because it was a warmer weekend, and we had such an amazing turnout," said Nohl. "I was honestly so shocked and surprised. I can't even tell you how many times I cried that day because it was just so cool to see." Nohl said before opening the shop, plants have always

Two B-21 test aircraft are now flying out of Edwards AFB as the program shifts from development into early operational validation
Two B-21 Raider stealth bombers are now flying test missions from Edwards Air Force Base in California, marking a shift from early development flights toward operational validation of the Air Force’s most expensive weapons program. At the same time, federal environmental review documents are advancing for the bomber’s first permanent home, with draft Environmental Impact Statements evaluating Dyess AFB in Texas and Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota as candidates for Main Operating Base 1. The overlap between active flight testing and base-selection paperwork creates a timing pressure that will shape when the first combat-coded B-21 wing stands up and where it operates.
