Four Arrested In Stolen Car Investigation

Westport Police Department Arrests Four in Connection with Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation. (Westport, CT) – As was detailed in in a separate advisory release, in the overnight hours of Thursday, November 5, 2026, officers were alerted by a stationary license plate reader of a stolen vehicle that had entered town limits at Wilton Road near the Merritt Parkway. This was a 2026 Genesis G70 that had originally been reported to have been stolen out of Enfield, Connecticut. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area and were initially unable to locate the vehicle. Later that morning, this same vehicle was observed by an officer traveling on Compo Road South near the intersection with Compo Beach Road. After seeing the marked police cruiser, the suspect vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and out of the officer’s sight. Believing it might be traveling toward Interstate 95, the officer continued eastbound on Greens Farms Road and located the vehicle crashed on Greens Farms Road near Prospect Road. It had sustained disabling damage. One suspect was seen running from the vehicle, however additional suspects were heard in the area by the first officer on scene. The surrounding area of the crash site featured open space and a wetlands marsh. While attempting to flee the scene, several of the suspects’ shoes had become lodged in the mud, providing potential clues as to the number and identity of occupants. Multiple officers, including members of the Fairfield Police Department and Connecticut State Police, converged on the area and set up an exterior perimeter. One suspect, identified as Christopher Whitley, was quickly apprehended after a canine track led to him hiding near the crash site. Whitley was found to be in possession of 6 grams of suspected crack cocaine as well as 30 individual bags containing suspected fentanyl. A second suspect, identified as Jeremy Francis, was also apprehended on the Interstate 95 northbound ramp at exit 18. The Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center also began to receive calls about a suspicious individual walking on Oxford Road in Fairfield who was not wearing shoes. This individual, ultimately identified as Jacun Harris, was located by officers at the Southport Diner; 3350 Post Road in Fairfield. He initially provided officers with a false name and was continuously uncooperative during the booking process. He was found to be in possession of four grams of suspected crack cocaine. He was taken into custody in connection with this investigation. Although initially believed that all parties had been apprehended, officers continued to maintain a presence in the area as well as the crash site searching for potentially discarded evidence or contraband. As the investigation progressed, additional information developed that suggested the unconfirmed possibility of the involvement of a fourth party. With that development, an 11:00am advisory message with incident details was sent to local press. Approximately forty-five minutes later, Westport Police received a call from a resident on Greens Farms Road reporting that an injured male was on his front porch and potentially in need of medical assistance. He was identified as Rhaquise Burgos. Burgos is alleged to have also been an occupant of the stolen vehicle and was taken into custody. Computer checks of these parties were conducted and showed that Rhaquise Burgos was also the subject of a court ordered arrest warrant for failure to appear in Hartford Superior Court. This warrant carried a court set $750,000.00 bond. Christopher Whitley was found to have an active warrant for his arrest held by the Hartford Police Department.
