CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Windber contractor is accused of taking $14,000 for renovation projects and then failing to do the jobs.

Jeremy Jedrzejey, 45, is accused of taking money from a woman in Cambria County to complete projects in her home, but then leaving multiple rooms in her home ‘unlivable,’ according to a criminal complaint. On April 26, officers of the East Taylor Township Police Department were contacted by the homeowner who said that she and Jedrzejey of Quality Trades Constructions had entered into a contract as part of a remodeling project.

The project included the demolition of a bathroom, bedroom and living room then a remodel of a bathroom, bedroom and living room, according to the homeowner. The contract was signed on March 2, according to the complaint. The homeowner told police that the problems were ongoing and time was a factor as Jedrzejey was allegedly not completing the project. She alleged that he would not finish a project before moving to the next one and then would leave it unfinished.

On April 23, the homeowner attempted to meet with Jedrzejey to resolve the issues, but he was allegedly argumentative and refused to resolve the issues. The project total was $22,178.59. The homeowner paid $7,400 on March 2 and another check for the same amount on April 15, according to court documents.

The homeowner told police that Jedrzejey had left her home ‘unlivable due to disconnecting water, heat and electrical’ combined with him abandoning the projects. On April 29, the homeowner allegedly reached out to Jedrzejey again in an attempt to resolve the issues, but it was unsuccessful.

Jedrzejay is facing felony charges of receiving advance payment for services and failing to perform and deceptive business practices.
