The spring high school sports season continues to excite as impressive performances poured in last week.

We start in softball where Laney junior Layla Carr went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and two homers in the Buccaneers 8-0 win over West Brunswick Friday.

In girls soccer, Hoggard junior Jordan Devoid achieved a feat few high school soccer players ever will, scoring a game tying goal directly from a corner kick to force overtime against Ashley. The game ended in 1-1 tie.

Finally, in baseball, Ashley's Dylan Welch went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and a home run as the Screaming Eagles held on to defeat New Hanover 6-5 Friday.
