Oroville teenager pleads no contest to grand theft auto crime spree
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - An Oroville teenager pleaded no contest to 13 felony counts for his grand theft auto crime spree that occurred on Dec. 13, 2023. Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey said William Phillip Kevil, 18, and two others were arrested after the culmination of a roughly four-hour crime spree in both Oroville and Chico. One of the participants, Kaitlynne Lewis, 20, of Oroville, admitted her crimes on January 17 and was sentenced to a youthful offender probation program for vehicle thefts and being an accessory to the crimes charged against Kevil.
Chico man who murdered local DJ in 2021 sentenced to 50 years to life in prison
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A Chico man who murdered a local Chico DJ in 2021 was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison, Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey said. 24-year-old Diontanae Tillman was sentenced to the maximum sentence on Wednesday by Butte County Superior Court Judge Corie Caraway for first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm, Ramsey said.

CHICO, Calif. - CHP Chico is looking for a car that was involved in a hit-and-run incident that led to a man being hospitalized with major injuries on May 11. Steven Twist, 55, was riding his bicycle within the westbound lane of Skyway, just west of Coutelench Road, CHP Chico said. An unidentified car hit Twist from the rear, which ejected him from his bike, CHP Chico said.
