Motorcyclist leads Corning police on high-speed chase
CORNING, Calif. - A Corning man led police on a high-speed chase in a stolen motorcycle Sunday morning, the police department said. Police said on Sunday, around 10:42 a.m., officers saw a motorcyclist driving recklessly in the area of Marguerite Avenue. Police said the motorcyclist was seen passing vehicles at a high rate of speed in a 55 mph zone doing about 90 mph.
Corning police locate almost 30 grams of fentanyl during traffic stop
CORNING, Calif. - Police said they cited and released a suspect on Sunday who had almost 30 grams of fentanyl. On Sunday, police said they observed a vehicle in the middle of the roadway at Toomes Avenue, just north of Viola Avenue, with the passenger door open and a man standing next to the car. When officers approached the car, the vehicle door closed, and the man walked away from the vehicle into a driveway.
Corning area vegetation fire contained to less than an acre
CORNING, Calif. - Fire units responded to a vegetation fire in Corning on Saturday, CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit said. The fire was in the area of Mclane and Mary Avenues. Crews were able to stop the forward progress of the fire at around a half an acre, CAL FIRE said.

Fire crews respond to debris fire at Waste Management facility in Chico
CHICO, Calif. - Fire crews responded to an overnight fire at the Waste Management facility on Scott Avenue. The Chico Fire Department said they were notified about the fire around 10:40 p.m. When crews arrived at the scene, they found a large pile of cardboard boxes burning.
