Suspect in Massachusetts homicide arrested in Willimantic

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) – Willimantic police say a Massachusetts fugitive was apprehended at his residence in Willimantic early Thursday morning.

Lee George-Maldonado was wanted in Massachusetts for kidnapping with a firearm, possession of a firearm without license, conspiracy to violate drug law, felony assault, and armed robbery.

He’s been previously arrested in connection to a homicide in Fall River, Massachusetts on Dec. 23, 2023.

On Thursday morning, he was located at his residence on Taylor Court and arrested by the United State Marshals Service and CT violent fugitive task force without incident, according to police.

He was also charged with fugitive from justice arrest without warrant, in Connecticut.

George-Maldonado was held on a $2 million bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Danielson court on Thursday, May 23.
