A homicide suspect accused of killing two people in West Virginia was found in a local motel Friday night.

• A man from Wood County, West Virginia, has been charged with driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury after driving the wrong way on U.S. 50. • The man, Andrew Warwick, was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50 and collided head-on with another vehicle driven by Brianna L. Jones.

On November 28, 2023, Sgt. Painter began an investigation into a stolen Honda motorcycle. The next day, Deputy Tullius started a case on a deceased K9. During a patrol, Deputy Thornberry noticed a vehicle violating traffic rules. The driver, Trenten Smith, had a warrant from the Marietta Police Department. Smith was found with a suspicious substance in his jacket and was arrested for drug possession and the warrant.

VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) - Authorities say the suspect in the murder of two Wood County people Friday evening is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to a news release from Vienna Police Chief Mike Pifer, police were called to 1003 38th Street in Vienna at 4:40 p.m. Friday. That is where a family member found the two victims inside the residence. Both had apparent gunshot wounds.

PARKERSBURG – A truck traveling the wrong way on U.S. 50 reportedly caused three accidents Wednesday evening, including a head-on collision. A Wood County 911 Center supervisor said a red Toyota pickup truck was traveling west in the eastbound lane of the road and caused a rollover near the 21.5 mile marker. About four miles later, near Progress Ridge Road, the truck caused another vehicle to run off the road, he said.
