Williamsport, Pa. – A man wanted on muder charges in Philadelphia was picked up in Williamsport on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Calvin Solomon, age 34, was wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department on homicide, abuse of a corpse, firearms, and lesser charges stemming from a June 2022 investigation.

After initial attempts to locate Solomon were unsuccessful, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) was requested to assist in his apprehension, according to a release.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, members of the USMS Task Force located and arrested Solomon in the 700 block of West Edwin Street in Williamsport without incident.

Solomon was arraigned by Magistrate Judge Christian Frey and denied bail. He's in the Lycoming County Prison awaiting extradition back to Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The USMS Middle District of Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force comprises 22 state, county, and local police agencies, including the Williamsport Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, the Lycoming Co Sheriffs, and the Lycoming Co Adult Probation – all of whom participated in this investigation.
