Williamsport, Pa. — A man accused of keeping a woman prisoner in an apartment for hours is headed to trial, a Lycoming County judge decided this week.

Aiden Ryan Magargle, 24, of Williamsport held a woman down on April 15 and refused to let her leave, Officer William Badger said. At one point, Magargle strangled the victim, nearly causing her to lose consciousness, Badger wrote.

Magargle threatened to kill the woman as he kept her inside the apartment in the 500 block of Pine Street in Williamsport, according to the complaint. At noon, after nearly four hours of being held at the apartment, the victim was able to leave, Badger added.

Officers saw bruises on the accuser’s neck and chest, according to the report. They were allegedly from Magargle holding her down.

Magargle is being charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, false imprisonment, and harassment. All were bound over for trial during a preliminary hearing this week.

Magargle is being held on $50,000 monetary bail.
